Nandi County senator Stephen Sang' has asked residents to support his gubernatorial bid.

Sang' is battling for the Jubilee Party ticket with the incumbent Dr Cleophas Lagat, former Minister Henry Kosgey, former Cabinet Secretary Felix Koskei among others.

Speaking in a series of campaigns in Nandi County, Sang' urged the residents to support him saying he was best placed to transform the region economically.

“I know I could have retained my senate post but the difficulties we are faced in terms of poor management of county resources has made me to vie for the top seat,” Sang said at Laboret High School during a thanksgiving ceremony.

He said he performed well in the Senate and would employ the skills in the prudent management of the county funds.

Sang' blamed the incumbent Lagat for failing to initiate projects that would improve livelihoods.

“Devolution in Nandi failed because of bad leadership. The governor and his cronies only cared about themselves and not the public. That is why we have not witnessed any meaningful development,” he added.

He urged the residents to support him in the Jubilee primaries set for next month.
