Sankuri residents are now smiling after a girls high school was opened by the current Balambala Constituency Member of Parliament AbdiKadir Omar Aden.
The school, which was officially commissioned by the area MP, was part of what the legislator had promised the residents of Sankuri during his 2013 campaign periods in the area.
Sankuri Girls High School is the third girls school in Balambala Constituency after two other schools that were started under the leadership of AbdiKadir Omar.
The residents have praised the MP for his hard work in the last four years he was in power and appreciated for opening the girls school in Sankuri.
"The MP did a lot for us and developed our constituency to greater heights. He solved so many issues that were affecting us and he fulfilled his promises. We are glad that today he opened this school for our girls and this will reduce the cost of traveling by our girls to Garissa in search for education," said Yakub Ismail, a resident of Sankuri in Balambala Constituency.
