Kenyan award winning music band Sautisol now claims their latest hit song "melanin" featuring Patoranking is of a "new era" and should not be banned.

The song released on Tuesday has already reached five hundred and sixty five thousand views on youtube as of Friday afternoon.

"Music can include a number of issues that are appropriate. But we are not in 1950,1970 nor in 1980 either. We are in a digital century. People are civilised and they don't look at nakedness with desire. The song is about celebration of African beauty of our women. We are not perfect but we appreciate our fans' support," said Sautisol on a local entertainment show on Friday.

Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Dr Ezekiel Mutua on Thursday, warned TV stations from airing the new song that "explores black beauty theme" on the watershed period and has asked the music band to submit it for "examination and classification".

He has however clarified that classification of content doesn't amount to banning.

In a statement Mutua said the band " failed to comply with content regulations " and the video "objectifies women particularly the girl child" .

If found to contain adult content after examination and classification ,the music video will be adult rated.
