A section of Nakuru youths have urged President Uhuru Kenyatta administration to come up with harsh penalties to curb corruption in the country.
The youths said that increased corruption cases among the leaders in the country have contributed to poor service delivery to tax payers.
Speaking during a public forum in Shabab area, the youths said that leaders greed has seen innocent Kenyans suffer.
“A lot of people in Kenya has lost their lives for lack of basic services which could have been available were it not for the corruption,” notes David Mungai.
Mungai continues that denying people basic services has lead to shuttered dreams, hence failing our country.
Joseph Kinuthia said that Kenyans are expecting to see the government prosecuting corrupt leaders.
“It will be unfair for the leaders to be reinstated back to their seat, without them being prosecuted, as we have seen in the previous regimes,” says Kinuthia.
Sarah Njoroge notes that in some Asian countries corrupt leaders are hanged.
"As a country we need to come up with severe punishment to curb corruption and embezzlement of public funds,” says Njoroge.
Njoroge argues that loosing job is not enough the government need to come up with more severe punishments.
“We should teach our children corruption is evil," says Njoroge.
