Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima has exuded confidence in retaining his seat after the August 8 elections.

Speaking during a campaign rally in the constituency on Monday, Mwahima said he is not afraid of rivals seeking to unseat him.The MP said he is experienced enough to win another term in office, adding that his opponents are “kids who don’t have the political maturity to represent the interests of Likoni residents in the National Assembly”.“I am not afraid of Mishi Mboko and others who are eying my seat because I have the experience and the numbers to win another term on August 8,” said Mwahima, as quoted by the Standard.He asked his rivals to brace themselves for a humiliating and resounding defeat in the coming general election.“I want to advice Mboko and others to quit the race and save themselves from embarrassment,” he said.Mwahima also warned his opponents against smear campaigns, and accused Mboko of spreading propaganda about him.“Reject aspirants who are riding on malicious propaganda because their agenda is to cause division,” he urged residents.The ODM rebel MP at the same time asked residents to remain peaceful before, during and after the August 8 general election.Mboko has on several occasions maintained that she has the numbers to send Mwahima home.
