In an interview with a local media house on Friday, the school head said that they had decided to install CCTV cameras to monitor all those getting into and out of the school so that they can guarantee the security of their teachers and pupils

"We do not want to put our security at stake. Attacks on teachers especially the non-locals have been in the rise. Ours is to prevent the situation when we can," said the educator.

The move to install cameras comes just a week after three people including two teachers were butchered by Al Shabaab insurgents in the region.

Following the incident, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) transfered all non-local tutors from the volatile area to more safer schools.
