Kamuthumbi Primary School head teacher has called upon the national government, county government, and all well-wishers to help re-build classes that were swept away by heavy rains on Monday.
Addressing parents and residents who had gathered to witness the open-roofed classes, Bartholomew Mutisya, the head teacher stated that the government is supposed to do something about the situation.
“As the head teacher, I am pleading with our county government through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), to finance the re-building of our classes so that the pupils can attend classes as they are lagging behind. I urge also the well wishers with the capability of financing us to intervene in this unexpected situation,” said Mutisya.
Mutisya further explained that the affected classrooms were nursery class, class 1-3 rooms had also been left without roofs and filled with water after Monday night’s heavy down-pour that was witnessed in many parts of the Country.
“The total number of students left without classes is 54. These have been left without classes after their classes were left without roofs and the floor filled with water,” added Mutisya.
