A number of school going children have been admitted for injuries they sustained in their eyes from the teargas hurled to the protesters during the NASA protest on  Wednesday.

According to, Nyanza Teaching and Referral hospital Chief Executive Officer Juliana Otieno, among the total number of 26 victims they received for treatment, some where school going children - mostly primary school kids – who had server eye damage.

“It’s obvious the teargas affected the students especially their eyes,” says Otieno.

However, Otieno added that most of them and the other victims have been treated and discharged.

She added that among the 26, three of them have bullet wounds.
