Ombeyi Mixed Secondary School in Muhoroni sub-county has been closed indefinitely following a students strike over what they termed as poor performance, diet among other issues.

Ombeyi Ward MCA Joshua Auko who visited the school on Tuesday said that issues raised by the students should be resolved as quick as possible so that learning can resume to avoid time wastage.

Auko says the school management must now come together and find a lasting solution to the alleged problems facing the students.

He said that performance of a school is determined by unity and good working formula between students, teachers, parents and even the school board of management.

The School Principal Omondi Aduda however on his part claimed that the strike was not about performance adding that the students were incited by a few individuals who are against his leadership style.

“I have on several occasions crossed the path of some of my staff because of due diligence in terms of service delivery and I think they are now paying back,” claimed Aduda.

The school Board of Management Chairman Jacob Odanga has however said they will have a stakeholders meeting in the school this Friday to chat the way forward and restore normalcy in the School.
