A primary school in Bonchari, Kisii South Sub County that was closed on Tuesday after parents protested over poor performance is yet to be re-opened.
The parents on Tuesday stormed the Genga Primary school and closed it on grounds that last year the first KCPE candidate scored 199 marks out of 500.
The school head teacher identified as Mboro was blamed for the poor performance and parents demanded his immediate removal before the school resumes.
Elvis Nyaiyo, a parent said the school will not be allowed to operate until the grievances raised by parents are addressed.
“No teacher or pupil will be allowed into the school before TSC transfers the head teacher and bring a new teacher. We can’t still believe that the school performed poorly yet in the past, it used to be among the top schools in Riana ward. Mboro must go,” he said.
