A school head teacher in Turbo has been fired over allegations of defiling a 14-year-old girl. The director of Canaan Royal academy, Aggrey Azelwa, said that he sacked the school boss after he got pressure from the parents. "Several parents have called me and have said that I sack him,” he said, adding that the parents had vowed to demonstrate if the head teacher came back. The director also said that personally, that was the best thing to do. “I had also thought about it, and felt that it was the only way out,” he said. “I have fired him with immediate effect.” He assured the parents not to worry as the issue is under control. This comes a couple of days after the teacher was released from an Eldoret court on a Sh200,000 bond. Parents who spoke to our reporter said that they were saddened with the act and they did not want to hear of the teacher anymore. "He is the sole reason why the pupils have been underperforming,” Khalayi, a parent at the school said.
