School girls in Kisii County have been warned against indulging themselves in prostitution.
Kisii county commissioner Godfrey Kigochi said the rate at which school girls are dropping school and engage in prostitution is worrying.
He said security officers will not condone prostitution in Kisii town at night.
"School girls are advised to be in school during school time and not at the streets seeking sexual partners. Police are working around the clock to ensure prostitution which is at the peak in Kisii town especially at night comes to an end," he said.
The county chief warned married men against luring school girls with money to for sexual advances.
He said adults found engaging in sex with school girls will not be spared.
"Married men should respect school girls and be satisfied with their wives at homes. Any suspect who will be arrested for having sex with small school girls will not be spared by the law. The courts should not free suspects destroying the future of young girls," he added.
He urged parents to be supportive to thier daughters to boost thier stay at schools.
Kigochi was speaking at Itiero primary school grounds in Bonchari sub county during the Madaraka day celebrations.
