A security guard at Githobokoni Primary School in Gatundu North was this morning found murdered by an unknown people.
The thugs, according to the area OCPD Moses Maina who confirmed the killing, stole nothing from the school.
“Eston Murigi, 47, was hit with a blunt object on his neck at around 3:30am. We have found a spear and a small rough panga near where his body was,” said Maina.
Guards at the neighbouring public works offices heard a commotion near the school’s main gate and went to investigate just to find the man murdered.
The school’s head teacher Martin Muriithi has decried the killing and called on the area police to do a thorough investigation over the issue.
“This is not the first murder of school guards in this area. Just a few months ago, another guard was killed in Karatu,” said Muriithi.
The school head also confirmed that the school properties were intact and that nothing was destroyed during the scene.
The body of the guard was taken to Gatundu District mortuary where a post-mortem is expected to be carried out before his burial.
