Nzoiani Primary School Head Teacher Felix Nthiwa said lack of enough government employed teachers could compromise performance in the future.

"My school has only seven Teachers Service Commission teachers against the high numbers of pupils in the school from Class One to Eight," said Mr Nthiwa.

Mr Nthiwa said he had twelve teachers deployed in the school by the commission last year, but five of them got promoted to other schools as either deputy head teachers or school heads early in the year.

He said Teachers Service Commission had since not considered deploying more teachers to the school for replacements.

Mr Nthiwa said those seriously affected were children in classes seven and eight, who were preparing for various examinations between this and next year.

He said the few teachers were not able to competently help the children pass their examinations.

Mr Nthiwa called on the government to immediately intervene to save the situation before it affects the children's performances.
