School heads in Uasin Gishu County have been urged to employ Board of Management (BOM) teachers who have been certified by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Director of Education Nicodemus Anyang said unregistered teachers will not be allowed to teach.
"It's against the law for unqualified teachers to teach students either in private or public schools. Those found, stern actions will be taken against them," he said in Eldoret town, Tuesday.
"We have received information that some schools in the county have employed unregistered teachers. I will not allow that soon they will be brought to book," he added.
This comes after TSC directed that only certified BOM teachers be assigned schools to ensure law and order is maintained in the education sector.
He, however, urged parents to ensure they take good care of their children, especially during this long holidays.
"I want to urge parents to stay with their children rather than sending them to their relatives. This will help monitor their behavior and correct them promptly," noted Anyang.
