Baraka Schools in Nakuru has initiated a fees bursary fund to assist needy students pay fees and continue with their education uninterrupted. During a special board meeting held at the main school in Lanet, the Private Schools Board of Directors Chairman Sahil Singh said the fund that kicks off immediately will benefit ten students in each of the five schools located within Nakuru County every term. He said the fund will involve paying of term fees, buying uniforms and books for students who join the school but have poor backgrounds. According to the schools boss, parents of needy students will be required to attend an interview by the fund’s committee that will be followed by actual visits and assessment by the committee members of the students’ homes. “This is a bold move to motivate pupils from poor families who wish to join our schools to work hard. We will ensure that no student wishing to join us misses education chance due to lack of fees,’’ said Singh.
