A school head from Mekenene Primary School has urged the government help trace two candidates that have gone missing since schools reopened for third term.

The two reportedly disappeared from their rural homes with efforts to trace them hitting a snag.

Mr Kefa Mose on Friday said the two candidates were top performers and complicated family backgrounds could have been the reason behind their disappearance.

He urged the police and local community to help trace the boys who were said to have had family problems.

According to neighbours, one of the kids was adopted while the other had a strained relationship with his father.

“I have tried to reach the guardians but none of them seems to know what exactly happened. It is disappointing since they were top performers. I would like to urge the government to help the institution bring the boys back to class ahead of KCPE,” he said.

Mr Mose said the matter was beyond the family and the government should treat it as a matter of urgency by giving it the weight it deserves.

“We can no longer interrogate the families because they have done their best. Government should treat the matter with the urgency it deserves. They are bright boys and have been performing extremely well. My A class students must seat for the exams,” he added.

The school head further emphasised the need to shun any blame games and insisted urgency to seek a quick solution to the predicament.

“I know how bureaucratic the government is. The caretaker parents have done their part and it will be improper to start bureaucratic exercises of investigating them. They have cooperated well with the administration of the school and all we need is government intervening,” he said.
