A board of management teacher who has been allegedly soliciting money for a county school in order to doctor their report forms has been sacked, the school principal has confirmed.
Speaking to HiviSasa.com on Wednesday, Nyakongo high school principal Bruce Kerage said Timothy Moseti, who has been teaching computer studies in the institution since 2012 was fired after being found culpable of the offence following concrete evidence given by a section of victims.
According to Mr Kerage, the institution started investigating the conduct of the teacher after receiving numerous claims from students who were persuaded to participate in the illegal activity.
“Some students had complained to the management over the issue and even produced concrete evidence to that effect. The institution followed the due process and the teacher was dismissed,” he said.
“Of course I can’t confirm how long he has been helping students who are weak academically and how much he has been asking for but I hear it is between Sh500-2,000 depending on the grades which the students wanted to be effected on the report form,” he added.
Mr Kerage warned students who may be participating in the unscrupulous activity, promising heavy punishment for those who have allegedly been participating in the unethical activity.
“Our students must learn to work hard and excel in life. The disciplinary committee will sit down soon and suggest a punishment for all culprits of the uncouth conduct,” he said.
Efforts to reach Mr Moseti were futile since he hanged up asked about the issue.
