The school's headteacher Benard Mautia has decried cases where some parents engage their children in funeral arrangements and programmes during school days instead of leaving them to concentrate on their education.

Speaking on Sunday at the School, Mautia warned them against creating unnecessary absenteeism from school for their children in the name of engaging them in funeral arrangements and mourning of their deceased relatives.

Mautia regretted that engaging schoolchildren in funeral programmes and ceremonies deprived them of their quality time to attend  school and concentrate on their curriculum delivery, leading to poor performance among individual learners and the school in particular.

"I am warning parents against turning their children into professional mourners during school days, compromising their concentration in education and curriculum delivery in school," stated Mautia.
