The parents claim the head teacher of Limuru Mission Primary School has maintained that the candidates must pay the amount to access their results.

The parents said the teachers said the fee will be paid to teachers who are paid by Parents Teachers Association.

Parents who declined to be named said the school also demanded that the candidates must produce original birth certificates for them to get the results.

Each candidate should pay Sh20 for the photocopying of the birth certificates yet the photocopy costs Sh3.

The parents have now called on Education Cs Fred Matiang’i to intervene for their children to get the results slips to enable their children to report to secondary school next month.

However, Esther Tony, a deputy head teacher at the schools denied the claims saying Sh20 was meant for a feeding program and was to be contributed voluntarily.

“The ministry outlawed charging any fee. A parent is supposed to pay only when a child has lost a school textbook,” she said.
