Schools in Nakuru have taken a break ahead of the scheduled presidential repeat elections on Thursday 26th October, 2017.
A spot check around town reveals most population comprising of students most of whom are traveling to join their families.
"We have gone on break for three days in order to vote," says Edna Chepkorir of Tracom College Nakuru.
"I hope to join my family in Kisumu during the break for elections," said Ben Juma of the same college.
"No classes today until next week," Brian Omondi of St. Paul's University Nakuru said.
The school announced a break through a memo.
"Dear students, kindly note the change in dates for the election period break. There will be no classes from tomorrow, 24th October. This is to allow students and staff to participate in the forthcoming elections," read part of a notice to students from St. Paul's University Nakuru.
