The Deputy President William Ruto has said the school electrification program that has been going on in the country is almost complete. This is in readiness of the full dispatch of Digital Literacy Program (DLP) for all class one pupils in the country as had been promised by the Jubilee government. Speaking in Nyabururu High School, Kisii County where he presided over a funds drive, Ruto called on the people to also use the opportunity to get electricity for their homes. "The electrification of schools in readiness of the DLP project is almost complete. This will go a long way to ensuring there is power for the laptops for class one pupils in the country. As the people you should take advantage of the electricity passing near you and light up your homes," said Ruto. The DP also downplayed reports that he was overspending on trips to the county saying he had the right to visit any part of the country as he so wishes. Ruto also called on the people to join Jubilee party saying Kisii was not a Cord zone as had been said by some leaders. He drummed support for all the development projects made by the ruling government. "Jubilee has managed to achieve what it had promised in its development agenda and by so doing, it has been able to achieve its development agenda score card," Ruto added. The DP was accompanied by area leaders who also concurred with his sentiments.
