Muhoroni Constituency Development Fund has allocated over Sh 11 million for the construction of more than 30 classrooms in different primary schools in the constituency.
Area MP Onyango Koyoo who presided over the ground breaking of the construction said infrastructures in most primary schools are wanting thus the need to improve them.
Koyoo said two schools with infrastructure needs were identified in each of the five wards in the constituency for construction.
He said three permanent classrooms with each costing Sh 850,000 will be built within a period not exceeding eight months.
“My team has worked tirelessly with the education officials in the constituency to identify needy schools that need urgent attention,” he said.
The MP said CDF has done a lot and urged the national government to work hard to maintain it and increase the allocation.
He said CDF is the only allocation at the grass root that has direct impact on the locals.
“CDF must now be anchored in the constitution since this is the only national government allocation that reaches the ground with huge impact,” he said.
Koyoo said the budgetary CDF allocation should be enhanced to allow MPs to carry out more developments in their areas.
He said he has put stringiest measures to ensure the fund is used prudently for the public.
