A total of 17 nursery Schools, primary, secondary and other higher learning institutions will be secured through the construction of perimeter walls in the Kisauni constituency, Mombasa County.

The new Kisauni Mp elect Ali Menza Mbogo said that the move was to ensure that pupils and students learn in a better environment as well as protecting the land belonging to the institutions from encroachment.

According to Mbogo, the program was the beginning of a long term project that will see every school, college and other learning institution in the constituency improved in both the infrastructure and other important academic materials.

“Mtopanga nursery school, Mtopanga secondary, Kisauni Baptist secondary and Shanzu teacher training college in Shanzu are some of the learning institutions that from next week will have new perimeter walls,” Said Mr Mbogo.

The new legislature who floored Rashid Bedzimba in the recently concluded general elections said that the money was not from the Constituency Development Fund-CDF.

“I promised my constituents that we will be sourcing for donor fund to accomplish various developments project in Kisauni, we are up to the task” added Mbogo.

He said that he was dedicated to ensuring that education in the constituency is improved through the 'Elimu kwanza' program launched two years ago.

“We benefitted over 3,000 students through our bursary project worthy KSH. 15 million, this was from my own pocket, we will do extra work on education especially now we have the CDF” He said.

“We, however, appeal to parents to value education as the feature of Kisauni lies in the hands of the young generation” added the legislature.

Mbogo said that education was the key to development and a tool to curb the many vices in the constituency including insecurity, juvenile criminal gangs, drug abuse among other socio-economic challenges.
