Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i will from January 4 tour various schools accompanied by senior education officials, to ensure head-teachers strictly abide by the issued fee guidelines.

The CS issued a stern warning against head-teachers and principals charging irregular fees, saying they risk suspension and legal action.

According to the issued fee structure, boarding schools are required to charge Sh53,554 fees, annually, Sh9,370 for day schools, while Special schools should charge Sh37,210.

School children have been on a two months holiday since early November 2016.
