The murder of businessman Jacob Juma will be investigated by detectives and private investigators from the UK and the US, his family has said.
This was announced by Juma's widow Miriam Wairimu on Friday during a press briefing at her residence amid reports that police have been sluggish in uncovering Juma's mysterious murder.
"We support calls for the engagement of foreign help in investigations on Juma's assasination," said Wairimu.
She added that the private investigators, FBI and Scotland Yard, will work with local Police agencies in unearthing Juma's murder that took place last week on Thursday.
"We want to know who found the body, when it was taken to City Mortuary and why we were not notified about it," she added.
During Juma's requiem mass at All Saints Cathedral on Thursday, Wairimu said that the police were yet to talk to her despite her family household proximity to Karen Police Station. She also appealed to Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to help them in the investigatioms.
"We hope Boinnet can give us the footage and mobile phone data detailing various mobile operators' locator masts his phone travelled through on the night of May 5 and the morning May 6," said Juma's widow.
Police have been appealing for help from members of the public to assist in the investigations including asking Cord principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula to record statements after they claimed to know Juma's hit men.
They have, however, told Boinnet off terming Juma's killing as 'extra-judicial'.
