The residents argued that increased cases of child kidnapping by the employees are now worrying.

Esther Wangari, Nakuru town resident said that there is need for the government to immediately shut down all the agencies that could not produce a clear record of their employees code of conduct.

“The agencies should be able to follow up on the employee to their work stations even after they have secured them jobs and try to find out how behaviours. That way we are able to have knowledge about the girls’ character when they are seeking for employment,” said Wangari.

Eunice Wangari cited that there was also need for the agencies to keep copies of the correct documentation records of house girls they assign duties in various homes.

“They should be able to keep copies of their Identity cards and any other important document so that it can be easy to trace them incase of any mischief,” added Wangari.

Social worker Esther Magere advised residents to ensure that they obtain a copy of their certificate of good conduct.

“That is the only way we can be sure that they have not brushed the law on the wrong side. The police would give this at an affordable rate,” said Magere.
