Kamau Njuguna, the Nakuru Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Chairman says that the Ministry of Education should investigate if all the colleges in the town are registered properly.

"We are left wondering if some of the colleges really abide by the laws governing the registration of a college. Some are even near very noisy bars, bus termini and others in the market," Njuguna said.

Njuguna who was speaking in Nakuru Town on Tuesday said that colleges which do not have hostels have contributed greatly to the rising prostitution in the town.

"Colleges that do not have hostels have forced most of its students to go ahead and rent houses outside the college. In the process, most of the girls seek financial support from older men who can assist them," Njuguna said.

He added that the Ministry of Education should regulate the colleges in the town since most of them are reducing the standards and quality of education.

"We are grateful that many colleges are opening in this town but the location of where they are is worrying. The locations should be conducive for learning," Njuguna said.
