There was a scuffle at the Garissa County assembly on Tuesday after Ward Representatives differed on a motion that was being debated in the house.
The scuffle started when opposition MCAs protested the decision by their Jubilee counterpart to adjourn a motion on the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP)
Opposition MCAs lead by leader of minority Mohamed Ali Sheikh accused Jubilee for ignoring their contribution in the debate.
“We were also elected as they (Jubilee MCAs) were elected. We should not play party politics when debating serious matters in the house. We will not allow Jubilee MCAs to demean us on grounds that we are affiliated to the NASA outfit,” he was quoted by The Nation.
Ali noted that NASA MCAs will not succumb to intimidation adding that they are ready to ensure the people of Garissa county get quality service delivery.
“We will keep a close eye and ensure our people get improved and quality services,” he added.
