[Photo| the-star]The latest group to call on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to postpone the repeat presidential poll that was pushed to October 28, 2017, is the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church.IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati announced that voting will be repeated in Kisumu, Siaya, Migori and Homa Bay counties due to security hitches witnessed in the region during the Thursday's poll.SDA through its chair Samuel Makori has written to Chebukati asking him to select another date for the repeat election noting if election goes on as planned, it will deny worshipers from voting.“We wish to bring to your attention that this date falls on Saturday which is a day of worship to over three million Adventists in Kenya. This will deny them their constitutional right to vote. While we support your move to give the Kenyans who did not vote today another chance, we request you to do it on another day other Saturday,” SDA letter read in part.Chebukati in a press briefing on Thursday addressing a press conference at the Bomas of Kenya, Thursday, said that commission will not keep on extending the voting since they must work within the constitutional timelines for the announcement of the election winner.
