The South Kenya Conference Executive Director Pastor Julius Bichang'a has assured the public that teachers and managers of the Seventh Day Adventist-sponsored schools in the region will continue being hired on performance contracting arrangements to enhance quality results in the church's sponsored institutions of learning.
Bichang'a allayed fears among parents and members of the public that SDA-sponsored schools were poorly run and managed, camp groundshence producing poor results in national examinations instead he assured them that the current conference administration has introduced performance contracting as a tool of reversing the perceived poor performance in national examinations among its church sponsored schools in the region.
Addressing a congregation of church leaders from across the conference campgrounds on Monday afternoon, Bichang'a clarified that, his administration will not entertain one's faith and allegiance to the church as requirement to qualify for headship in the church's sponsored schools.
The Executive Director's sentiments come amid public outcry over the poor education standards and show in national examinations among learners from SDA-sponsored schools in the church's South Kenya Conference region.
Bichang'a, however, encouraged faithfuls and the public to consider enrolling their children in the SDA-sponsored schools in the region, assuring them that all their questions regarding the schools' education standards and national examinations performance have been addressed by his current South Kenya Conference administration to assure both children and parents of quality education.
"As the administration of the South Kenya Conference we take this opportunity to assure our members and the general public that from today henceforth all the SDA-sponsored schools across this conference will be headed and run by professionally qualified heads and there is need for you to embrace these institutions as education centres of excellence for your children," encouraged Bichang'a.
