The search for Juja Ward MCA Samuel Munene, who allegedly disappeared mysteriously on Sunday morning is ongoing, his family has said.
According to Gitau's wife, the husband had drove to Juja town to withdraw some money as they were to attend a fundraiser in a Juja church on the same day.
“He told me he was going to withdraw money from an ATM. We did not communicate again until early morning when we found his car at the gate abandoned and it had been blocked with stones. My father-in-law called the sub-chief and Juja OCS too who came,” said Wairimu in her home.
His father, Munene Gitau said that he heard dogs barking before he decided to check out what was happening.
“I went out and lit all the lights and that is when I saw Gitau's car at the gate and I thought maybe he had stopped to answer a phone call,” said Gitau.
Following the incident, Kiambu County Speaker Gathii Irungu, who visited the family has asked the government to consider giving them security, seeing that some of them have been receiving threats.
“We are the ones who stay with the people unlike MPs and our enemies know where to get us. So can the State give us security,” said Irungu.
