[Photo/the-star.co.ke]Kenyan students in secondary schools will now be able to access healthcare following a move by the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) to issue them with cards.Goeffery Mwangi, the Chief Executive Officer of NHIF, told a leading local newspaper that the 3 million students will now be able to be treated in NHIF accredited hospitals for all ailments.The only step remaining for the roll-out of the program is the furnishing of the details of the students by secondary schools in the country.Experts have hailed the initiative, saying that it will ease the burden on Kenyan parents of settling the medical bills of their children in secondary schools.''The government is relating to parents and caregivers who cannot afford health care for themselves,'' Mr. Mwangi told the Sunday Nation.
