A secondary school teacher was on Wednesday arraigned before a Nakuru court and charged with defilement.
Dancun Kariro is alleged to have committed the indecent act with a 17-year-old girl who the prosecution claimed was his student.
The court heard that the accused repeatedly defiled the girl between the diverse dates of October 3 and 10 and also between November 10 and 14 in Dundori area within Nakuru.
Kariro further faced another count of indecently touching the girl during the same diverse dates.
He however pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a bond of Sh100,000 with a surety of similar amount or a cash bail of Sh100,000 pending the hearings into the matter on February 3 ,2013.
Senior principal magistrate Liz Gicheha further ordered the accused not to tamper with the complainant nor witnesses in the case after the prosecution argued that he was likely to interfere with investigations because the complainant was his student.
In the same court a university staff was charged with maliciously destroying eye glasses belonging to her colleague.
Phoebe Achieng Odhiambo allegedly destroyed the said glasses belonging to Ruth Akinyi on October 27 within Egerton University in Njoro.
She however pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of Sh20,000 pending the hearing of the case on February 1 2016.
