Esteemed as one of the best universities in Kenya and in entire Africa, Moi University students went diligently to the polls last year and voted for the students who could lead them and represent them in the so-called students' organization (MUSO).

These leaders came from nowhere in a mere society(s) and vied for the seats not even knowing where they could dig money from to facilitate and turbocharge their campaigns in order to win, but they believed they could become greater leaders of Moi University and the society at large. They could not die in their hearts and they finally won through the rowdy environment they stood in.

Moi University students' leaders are the most humbled I have seen from a Kenyan leader. These leaders do form even a meeting with very small people around the university to discuss the matters that affect them.

A famous Kenyan politician can ignore questions from a young journalist but a Moi university students' leader is liable. They interact with students from different corners of the university, they don't select specialties. This just demonstrates their success.

A successful leader should be humble. I was shocked to see how some of them could spare part of their time in order to come to church, the Moi University Christian union. They were given some few minutes to talk and this is what one of the leaders, s Moses Tisa said, "I am saved and please pray for us so that we can have the strength to lead you."

The funny part of it was "Pray for me because sometimes I find myself yawning too much when praying," Tisa added. He is also faithful as a leader and that is also part of his success.

Isaac Choge also a student leader had something to say in the Christian Union church, "continue praying for us so that we work with all the strength because God is everything."

Tisa, the secretary general of MUSO has been trending for more than a month through his message to the government concerning lecturers' strike. One word, 'oppugnancy' has brought him fame which he has not been demanding from people.

This is why these Moi University student leaders have dug their success. They believed, are still humbled and they love God above all. Indeed they will go far than many would expect.
