Speaking to our reporter on Tuesday, Thomas Ogachi, father to Dennis Ogachi who was among the unsuccessful participants during the recruitment, accused the officials of partiality.

According to Ogachi, his son took position three, but he was denied the number and instead ‘caned’ for allegedly causing disturbance.

“I do not believe that the exercise was performed transparently as we expected, because my son took position in the race, but he was sent away by the officers in charge of the recruitment,” he complained.

Dennis Ogachi, a participant, fought back tears explaining how he was allegedly ‘denied’ the opportunity.

“I ran well, and on reaching the finishing point, I was said to have remained with one round, and when I tried to explain myself I was thrown into the police lorry,” narrated Ogachi.

Fredrick Kagai, Assistant Superintendent of police, who was also in charge of the exercise that took place at Gusii Stadium, denied the allegations of partiality in the recruitment.

However, he accepted there were a few challenges like some participants wanting to use fake result slips, but they were able to identify them.

A total of 15 people from the area were recruited for the police job.
