The move is aimed at avoiding chaos like it has always been experienced in public forums in Kiambu County and mostly in Thika.

Thika OCPD Francis Muthamia has called on the public to participate peacefully and follow the stipulated guidelines to avoid any collision with the police who will be deployed in all the sub-county headquarters tomorrow morning.

This comes after today’s incident where fliers spreading hate messages and stating that the meeting would not happen were found in Thika.

The police commander said the area will be highly guarded and the public forum which is set to be held at Thika community hall as announced to members of the public will take place without a hitch.

Speaking from his office Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo said that the police are investigating the origin of the fliers and the people responsible of circulating them will be arrested and arraigned in court.

“I am not the leader of the county assembly and the budget is not mine. I don’t see why the person had to bring my name in the hate message distributed along the streets. Anyone caught in alignment with the papers will have to face the law as I have instructed the police to probe on the same,” said Kabogo.

The budget public hearing forum will be rolled out in the respective sub-county headquarters.
