Police have assured adequate security during the annual conference for the primary school head teachers which starts on Sunday in Mombasa County.
Coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa said security has been beefed up in the county ahead of the meeting which will take place from Sunday to Thursday.
Mr Marwa said that police patrols will be heightened with more law enforcers being deployed in various areas in the county and also where the meeting will be held.
“Security has been enhanced ahead of the head teachers’ annual conference that kicks off on Sunday. Coordination between police and security firms has been boosted to improve security in various places across the county,” he said.
Adequate security arrangements have been made throughout the period as more than 10,000 participants are expected to attend the meeting.
The 13th annual delegates’ event which will be held at Sheikh Zayed Children Welfare Centre in Bombolulu, will run under the theme “Re-engineering education curriculum reforms ”.
Kepsha chairman Shem Ndolo said the school heads are expected to deliberate on issues affecting the education sector in the country.
“Despite the conference this time around being delayed because of the prolonged electioneering period, the school heads are looking forward to a constructive discussions. The forum is critical and will give them an opportunity to reflect on several issues affecting the education sector,” said Mr Ndolo.
