Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi has been closed until Tuesday, November 28.
Security in the stadium has been beefed up in readiness for the swearing of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Preparations for the event have been completed and the facility will be open for public access on Tuesday morning.
At least 20 heads of state and governments are expected to attend the where President Kenyatta will take his last oath of office as per the constitution.
Last minute preparations took center stage today with government officials at hand to ensure everything is in place ahead of the big day.
Media houses were not left behind as they set up their transmission equipment with the event set to be aired air live.
Stadium workers also were active in making the facility presentable, while musicians contracted to perform during the event were also present for rehearsals.
Security agencies combed every corner of the facility with a heavy presence of police officers now manning Kasarani.
