Security has been intensified in Lamu County ahead of the repeat of presidential polls slated for Thursday October 26.
Lamu County commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo said more officers have been deployed to the many areas in the region to ensure there is peace before, during and after election.
According to Kitiyo, patrols have been increased on the Somalia border to curb any attack from the Al shabaab terrorists.
Kitiyo added that anyone planning to disrupt the presidential election will be arrested and prosecuted.
"Anyone who will not take part in the election should stay at home since those who will cause disruption will be dealt with accordingly", he said.
