Police have intensified their patrols in Kawangware after the violence that broke out in the area on Sunday evening.
Tension remained high at Congo and Kawangware 56 as irate youths engaged officers in running battles.
They hurled stones and barricaded roads in protest of the Supreme Court ruling that gave a nod to President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection in the repeat poll.
Anti-riot police lobbed tear gas canisters to disperse them but the youths would reemerge whenever the police retreated.
A police helicopter was also seen hovering in the area to intensify surveillance.
