Rift Valley regional coordinator Wanyama Musiambo has said security has been beefed up in the region ahead of the start of KCPE exams tomorrow.

Musiambo said more security officers and vehicles have been deployed to help distribute the exams to all centres in the region.

"Security officers have been briefed and deployed to all the 14 counties including areas that have experienced insecurity in the past like Samburu,  Laikipia,  Kerio Valley, Turkana and West Pokot", he said.

He added that in case of need for more extra security, a standby reinforcement team will be dispatched.

According to Musiambo, police have orders to arrest anyone who will attempt to disrupt the examination.

"Officers will be on alert to arrest anyone who will be out to disrupt the exams. We want the examinations to be conducted smoothly,’’ he said.
