Speaking in Eldoret town on Sunday, Mr. Abdi Hassan said that the ongoing terror threats on social media have instilled great fear in most of the people.

"I want to tell the people of Uasin Gishu that the social media reports were not true and I urge those posting such misleading information on the social media to stop since they are instilling great fear to the residents of this county. I am giving them a warning that anyone who will be found doing that will be arrested and prosecuted," said Hassan.

Hassan went ahead and called upon all the people of Uasin Gishu County to always be on the lookout for any unusual activity that might be taking place.

"We are not taking any chances and we are kindly asking all the residents to always be vigilant and to report any kind of unusual behavior or person to the police officers. By working together with the police and also other security agencies, we can have a peaceful and crime free County," said Hassan.

Hassan called upon all the local leaders to stop politicizing the issue of security since it is very sensitive and it needs all the cooperation from all the people in the country.

"Even though we have had some terror threats in this country, I call upon all the leaders to stop politicizing this issue and instead help the Government to curb it. The government is doing everything possible to ensure that the Citizens of this country are always protected," added Hassan.
