Marechaux further said that with proper security, Kisumu city will grow to a better economy and achieve more development goals.

Speaking at Migosi estate in Kisumu on Monday while launching a floodlight project in the area, the ambassador said erecting floodlights in the city is the surest way to boost security for the people.

He said that with other measures like putting up police post in crime-spot areas, security will be addressed once and for all.

“Security is very critical for any region and the county of Kisumu will grow economically if efforts are geared towards addressing security matters,” said Marechaux.

Marechaux said the French government will continue assisting Kisumu County to surmount some of its challenges.

He further urged the county government to strive and ensure the lives of the locals are changed as a result of the assistance from France.

“We are giving a lot of support to Kisumu City and I want the county government to ensure these projects are well implemented to benefit the people,” added Marechux.

The ambassador further noted that more investors even from France will come to Kisumu to do business as more programmes are rolled out to modernize Kisumu City.
