The government has been urged to introduce defence training in schools to counter threats of terrorism and crime.
Speaking on Thursday at Bondeni Primary School during the Global Hand Washing Day, Trim security director Anne Mugo said as the government continues making efforts to fight diseases, they should also consider the safety of the children in this world of terrorism and major crimes.
She said children should be taught on how to prevent crimes and terrorism at a tender age.
"Security can be strengthen if our children from a tender age in primary school are taught skills of self-defence like karate and tae-kwondo,"said Mugo.
Mugo said if children will be equiped with all these skills, the institution of learning and other major places will be safe.
She call upon the government to introduce karate training in schools so that children can defend themselves in case of attack.
