A security guard was on Tuesday arraigned in a Nakuru Law Court to face charges of masterminding the stealing of a vehicle from his employer at a garage in Nakuru town.
The prosecution desk told Chief Resident Magistrate Samuel Mungai that the accused Lukas Mwanzi, 44 who worked for Menengai Car Garage within industrial Area in Nakuru town with others who were not before the court, allegedly masterminded to steal a car valued at Sh1.4 million belonging to a client on Februay 27 this year.
According to the prosecution the accused, who was on duty that day, had failed to take maximum care and precaution to prevent the theft of the vehicle after he claimed that the car was driven away by a person who had identified himself as the owner.
The accused however denied the accusations but was remanded after he failed to raise a cash bond of Sh100,000.
Meanwhile the same Court remanded a 30-year-old man who was charged with peddling narcotic drugs contrary to the penal code.
The Court heard that on March 15 this year at Kivumbini Trading Centre within Nakuru town the accused Sammuel Kimani was arrested by Police officers from Bondeni Police Station following a tip off from members of the public and found being in possession with ten rolls of Bang which he was selling.
He was remanded after denying the charges and after he failed to raise a cash bond of Sh10,000. Both the cases will be heard on April 2.
