A security meeting was yesterday called by Naivasha Subcounty Commissioner Abraham Kemboi at Gacuma Village after two communities in the village clashed over the unused ADC farm and leaving one person dead.
Security has been intensified after the Kikuyu and Maasai community fought over the weekend forcing some people to flee away from the village. Kemboi went ahead and told the press that the security meeting was called so as to ensure that a lasting solution is immediately found.
"We have managed to restore calmness in the village and security has already been intensified, The security team together with the officers are at the moment touring the viallage and i assure you that business is back as usual", Kemboi said while at his office in Naivasha town.
The Naivasha sub county commissioner condemned all the people who were involved in the skirmishes.
"It seems that there is an increase in the number of land disputes in this subcounty but i want to assure you that we will deal with each and every case. Every week we are getting new land issues in this area and i think its a very high time we come up with a lasting solution to all these cases", Kemboi said.
Kemboi went ahead and said that the land cases were being caused by the idle government lands, absent of land owners and also the increasing numbers of pastoralists in Naivasha sub county.
"We are dealing with each and every case and we hope that very soon we will be able to end all the cases", Kemboi said
