Local security agencies in the country are warning Female Genital Mutilation perpetrators after receiving intelligence that some parents were planning to secretly subject their daughters to the act. 

Embu County Commissioner Esther Maina said on Tuesday that they were monitoring a group of women that informants revealed planned to camouflage the act with the festivities to escape the attention of law enforcers.Maina and Embu Woman Representative Jane Wanjuki said circumcision of girls was illegal, outdated and tarnished the image of the county.
