Security units have been challenged to adopt coordination in order for them to curb the insecurity menace.
The country’s top two security chiefs have exited after demands by the Cord coalition demanding for their sacking or resignation.
Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku was sacked by President Uhuru Kenyatta with Inspector General David Kimaiyo opting to retire.
Speaking in his office on Wednesday, Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma said that there was need for the security units and organs to have a well-structured coordination for them to curb the insecurity menace.
“The security organs need to have an organized and structured coordination for them to perform. The National Intelligence Service, the Administration Police together with the Regular police need to employ the aspect of coordination for them to deliver, serve and protects Kenyans,” said Ranguma.
The Governor extended his condolences to the families of those who have lost their loved ones due to insecurity and said that it was of no use having many security organs in the county yet Kenyans are still losing lives.
“It is so unfortunate that we are also losing our security officers to this menace and this is why its high time our security organs need to ask themselves where the rains started beating them and handle our security properly,” added Ranguma.
Ranguma further challenged the national government to manage the country’s security for investments to take place in the counties.
