Rift Valley Regional Coordinator Wanyama Musiambo has confirmed that adequate security has been put in place ahead of the Madaraka Day Celebration to be held at Afraha Stadium, Nakuru on Wednesday. Musiambo also assured that the event will run smoothly without any interruption calling upon Kenyans at large to attend without fears.

"We have deployed a number of security officers both in uniform and civilian clothes who will spread across critical areas in Nakuru town. This is part of our commitment in improving security levels during the celebrations," Musiambo said.

"Police and intelligent officers have also been deployed at various restaurants and other areas near the Afraha to forestall criminal activities during the event," Musiambo added.

The Regional coordinator was speaking at Afraha Stadium on Tuesday when finalizing preparations for the event.

Musiambo is part of the region’s security organizing committee mandated to oversee on the event in Nakuru.
